Sydney Walks

Bradleys Head Walk is a 6km coastal and bush walk along Headland Park, Clifton Gardens and Bradleys Head. When I planned this walk I wanted to include Georges Head Lookout to the popular Taronga Zoo to Chowder Bay walk. Chowder Bay After the downhill walk from Headland Park, I arrive at Chowder Bay. There are some heritage naval sites here. Cargo ship at Chowder Bay Mosman Beach Mosman Beach is a very busy beach with picnic and bbq facilities. There are a lot of families enjoying here. Mosman Beach A sculpture of dog at Mosman Beach Clifton Gardens On the other end of Mosman Beach is the start of the Clifton Gardens. The first part of this track is mostly uphill concrete steps. Bradleys Head Walk is a 6km coastal and bush walk along Headland Park, Clifton Gardens and Bradleys Head. When I planned this walk I wanted to include Georges Head Lookout to the popular Taronga Zoo to Chowder Bay walk. I also wanted to take the ferry at the end of the walk so I started at Headland Park. To get to my starting point I took Bus 100 from Clarence St at Wynyard in the city to the "Middle Head Rd Cobbitee St" bus stop near Frenchy's Cafe. The walk from Headland Park to Chowder Bay is easy but I cannot say the whole path is clearly marked. From Headland Park to Georges Head the walk is nicely marked  are there are families and dogs walking as well. The path was a little muddy from the rain the night before. However from Georges Head to Chowder Bay, the path I found diverged from the one I have in the map. There is also a portion that is very downhill and I did not see anyone walking on the track. Spit to Manly Walk is one of the most popular bush and coastal walks near Sydney. It is also known as Manly Scenic Walkway and is one of the most beautiful walks offering different views of the North and Middle Heads, passing by various kinds of beaches and parks.  Suburban Walk The rest of the walk after Dobroyd Head is a coastal and suburban walk passing by several beaches and a lot of residential houses. A lot of the paths are concrete and there is a large contrast of ambiance from the previous tracks. Personally I prefer bush walks than suburban walks but I think the variety makes the Manly Scenic Walkway a lot more interesting. There is an optional detour to Grotto Point Lighthouse as well. Grotto Point Walk is a lot flatter compared to Castle Rock Track.  Grotto Point Engravings Not long from the start of this track is an optional detour to Grotto Point Engravings. This is a very short detour so I highly suggest taking this one and checking the engravings. The path here is elevated to protect the engravings on the rocks (I think they are limestones). It is also known as Manly Scenic Walkway and is one of the most beautiful walks offering different views of the North and Middle Heads, passing by various kinds of beaches and parks.  Grotto Point Lighthouse Grotto Point Lighthouse is an optional destination along the Spit to Manly walk. As the Castle Rock Track ends, the track branches into three directions, the track going south is called the Lighthouse Track and it goes to the lighthouse. It is a moderately difficult track requiring to climb up and down small and big rocks. The bushes are also thicker here and the path is not as clear as the rest of the Manly to Spit Walk.
